CAC Positions

These are the descriptions of CAC’s Board Member positions. If you are a NASA co-op or intern, please contact cac.nasa@gmail.com if you wish to be nominated to be a CAC Board Member or would like to get involved in your Center’s CAC committee.

Project Lead – The Project Lead is responsible for arranging and conducting regular meetings of the board, maintaining action items, maintaining communication with each Center, managing the board and its members, and for maintaining order. The Project Lead also coordinates activities and action items with the Secretary, maintains the CAC WordPress site by editing and posting to it, and updates the CAC PBworks server.  The Project Lead also has the power to assign additional duties to the Secretary, Ombudsman, and Center Directors. The Project Lead and Secretary work together to maintain and meet the expectations for CAC.

Secretary - The Secretary records the board’s regular meetings and special meetings of the club. They also take minutes at each board meeting and send them out to the board in a timely manner.  They maintain roll, process resignations, provide any CAC-generated documents within 24 hours of their request, and report to the Project Lead with issues and ideas. The Secretary is also responsible for editing and posting to CAC’s website and accomplishing the duties specified to him or her by the Project Lead.

Ombudsman – The Ombudsman shall serve in a non-voting capacity of the Board. They shall be an impartial, objective person for members to voice concerns, complaints, and compliments to. They shall report all claims, no manner how minor, to the Board at each board meeting. No member of the organization may request or be given the names of the person making the comment to the Ombudsman unless the Ombudsman has gained their prior permission. Records of the Ombudsman not entered into minutes by the Secretary shall be destroyed as soon as they are no longer needed.

CAC Center Directors – Each Center Director is responsible for his or her Center’s participation in the CAC Program. They coordinate duties to members at their Center as needed. The Center Director attends bi-weekly board meetings and invites other specific members as needed.  Center Directors are also responsible for putting together a CACiN issue, holding a ViTS (video teleconference between all NASA Centers), and informing other board members about what is going on at their Center. The Center Director is a liaison between the board members and the co-ops and interns at their respective Center.
